Leaning is a series of low-profile storage pieces that explore the transformation of surface into volume. Rather than simply occupying a wall, the pieces transform it: the flat, closed surface of the wall open up to create a functional volume.

The fold acts as a soft hinge, allowing the flexibility of the fabric to meet the rigidity and weight of a plywood board. The cut and construction of the fabric, its folds and tensions, interact with the weight of the wood. Form and function thus emerge from the dialogue between these contrasting properties.

Rather than being conceived as an object placed against the wall, Leaning emerges from the wall surface itself. A plane bends, opens and becomes a volume. Through this minimal intervention, the familiar typology of the shelf is reimagined as a lightweight, easily mounted “wall pocket”.
